The Hampshire-based housebuilder has submitted the reserved matter application after already securing outline planning permission for the site.
This second application will detail the design, layout, landscaping and architecture of the new scheme.
Of the 170 homes proposed, 85 will be designated as affordable tenures, including homes for affordable and social rent, shared ownership, and under the First Homes scheme.

Public open space is incorporated throughout the site, with a large new public recreational area. The landscape strategy includes retaining mature trees, extensive tree and hedge planting, and natural play areas with wildflower meadows.
All houses will be two-storey and include a mix of one- to five-bedroom properties. Low-rise apartments, at key focal points, will reach up to 2.5 storeys with dormer windows.
“The development of this site, which was allocated for housing development in the District Council’s Local plan in 2020, presents an opportunity to provide high-quality, sustainable homes in a location that people are proud to call home,” said Nick Stone, land and planning director at Pennyfarthing Homes.
“We aim to create a place that both meets local needs, including homes for first-time buyers, and contributes positively to the character of Milford-on-Sea.”
